About Virtual Assistance
Why work with a Virtual Assistant? Your entrepreneurial spirit is what inspired you to strike out on your own but, as John Donne wrote, “No man is an island…,” and a virtual assistant offers much more than clerical support. A VA partners long-term with a select handful of clients so that she or he can effectively concentrate on their businesses.
Benefits of Partnering with a Virtual Assistant
- You’ll have support from someone who is truly interested in your business, your success, and your happiness; someone who, through close collaboration, can proactively contribute to your business.
- You’ll have more time and energy to devote to accelerating the growth of your business, by making better decisions, developing new relationships with potential clients, and improving relationships with existing clients, thus leading to increased revenues.
- You won’t have the extra work and costs that go along with having an employee—dedicated office space, purchasing or leasing equipment, dealing with payroll, taxes and benefits.
- You’ll expand your network base. Virtual Assistants belong to a community of talented professionals, and they’re happy to share their resources with their clients.
- You can relax and enjoy life more when you can do the things you love and spend less time worrying about the small details you don’t want to be bothered with.
- You’ll experience professional rapport when you partner with someone who understands the challenges of running a small business.
Some Specifics About Working with a VA
- Communication – I use the phone, fax, email, and instant messaging to collaborate with my clients on a regular basis. Various collaboration tools allow for the seamless sharing of files and other information. I offer weekly check-in calls, but I’m willing to work with whatever method and frequency of communication you prefer.
- Relationship – I am an independent contractor, not an employee. Because we’ll agree to work in partnership, it’s essential that my client and I are compatible and have similar communication styles. Ideally, we should feel a connection or rapport.
- Trust – No two VA/Client relationships are exactly alike; trust is the essential ingredient for making each of them work.
